Alter G Anti-Gravity Treadmill
We offer the innovative Alter-G, anti-gravity treadmill in all three of our Southeastern Idaho clinics. Alter-G allows patients to rehabilitate with less pain while reducing the risk of further injury. Great for athletes, orthopedic patients, people experiencing chronic pain, those suffering from neurological conditions ad those looking to lose weight.
As the only ASTYM® certified clinic in SE Idaho, we can help you if you’re experiencing pain, loss of motion, loss of function following surgery, injury, or chronic tendinitis. ASTYM/IASTM treatment stimulates regeneration and healing.
Our occupational therapist focuses on rehabilitation of the hand, fingers, wrist, forearm, and elbow.
EMG (Electromyography/Nerve Conduction Study) measures the electrical activity of muscles at rest during contraction. Nerves control the muscles in the body by electrical signals (impulses), and these impulses cause muscles to react in specific ways. If you’re suffering from back pain, neck pain, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, weakness in legs, arms, or hands, ask your physician if EMG/NCS testing is right for you.
Water is a great healer and the ideal medium for rehabilitation, conditioning and training. With little or no weight bearing in the water, aquatic therapy is safe and effective. Great for spine disorders, post operative spine surgery, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and more.
For orthopedic rehabilitation, we specialize in the upper extremities and offer post-surgical rehab, rotator cuff repairs, and treatment for carpel tunnel, tendinitis, and wrist and hand fractures.
Ultrasound Guided Dry Needling
Dry Needling, also known as Trigger Point Needling, is a cost effective and efficient technique for the treatment of pain and discomfort.
A small needle is inserted into muscles, ligaments, and tendons to decrease muscle tension, increase mobility and reduce pain. Dry needling encourages the body’s ability to heal, therefore reducing pain.
The following medical conditions can be helped by Dry Needling:
- Athletic and sports-related overuse injuries
- Post-surgical pain
- Work-related injuries
- Motor vehicle injuries
- Acute traumas
- Chronic pain
- Lower back pain
- Neck pain
- Pelvic pain
- Plantar Fascitis
At Superior Physical Therapy, our therapists are trained to do Ultrasound guided Dry Needling to target your pain directly and ensure the most effective treatment.
Runner’s Gait Analysis
We record runners with a high-speed camera that records 120 frames/second. This is combined with a software program that allows us to analyze a runner’s gait. We can help adjust running speed and efficiency.
MSKUS, or Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, offers a number of important advantages in terms of safety and effectiveness. Musculoskeletal ultrasound simply uses sonic waves, and there is no exposure to radiation. Ultrasound is noninvasive and offers real-time imaging. This ability to capture the movement of musculoskeletal components, differentiates it from other imaging modalities, and can permit more accurate diagnoses. We can “see your pain” and help create an effective and individualized plan of care unique to you.
